Imperva has been protecting applications and data since 2002. The company’s platform covers web application security, API protection, DDoS mitigation, bot management, and database security — essentially, everything between users and the data they’re trying to access.

The Web Application Firewall (WAF) is Imperva’s flagship product. It protects against OWASP Top 10 attacks, zero-day exploits, and sophisticated application-layer threats. Available as a cloud service or on-premises appliance, it’s deployed in front of some of the world’s most critical web applications.

DDoS protection covers layer 3 through layer 7 attacks, with a global network capacity exceeding 9 Tbps. The Advanced Bot Protection engine distinguishes legitimate users from malicious bots using behavioral analysis, device fingerprinting, and challenge mechanisms.

On the data security side, Imperva monitors database activity, enforces access policies, and discovers sensitive data across on-premises and cloud databases. The Data Security Fabric provides a unified view of data risk across the enterprise. Thales acquired Imperva in 2023 for $3.6 billion, integrating it into the French defense company’s broader cybersecurity portfolio.
