R/GA has been around since 1977, which makes it one of the oldest agencies in the digital space. Bob Greenberg founded the firm originally as a motion graphics studio, and it reinvented itself roughly every nine years — moving from film production to digital advertising to what it calls “business transformation” today.

The agency operates under the IPG umbrella and runs offices in New York, San Francisco, London, Berlin, Tokyo, Sydney, Buenos Aires, and other major cities. Their client roster reads like a Fortune 100 list: Nike, Samsung, Google, and Johnson & Johnson among them.

R/GA’s Nike+ work basically defined what a connected fitness ecosystem could look like and won them a Titanium Grand Prix at Cannes. They didn’t stop there — the agency now runs an accelerator program called R/GA Ventures that helps startups scale, essentially blurring the line between agency and venture studio.

Their organizational model groups talent into practice areas — strategy, design, technology, and data science — then assembles cross-functional teams for each engagement. This lets them tackle problems that range from logo redesigns to building entirely new product lines.

R/GA consistently ranks among the top agencies globally for both creative awards and business impact metrics.
