TickTick launched in 2013, built by Appest Inc., and it’s grown into one of the most feature-rich task managers available. The app often flies under the radar compared to Todoist or Things 3, but users who discover it tend to stick with it.

What makes TickTick stand out is the sheer breadth of built-in features. You get task management with lists, tags, and priorities — plus a full calendar view, habit tracker, Pomodoro timer, and even a white noise generator for focus sessions. Most competitors require separate apps or plugins for these.

The calendar integration is particularly well done. Tasks with due dates appear alongside your Google or Outlook calendar events, giving you a unified view of your day. You can drag tasks to reschedule them, which makes planning quick and intuitive.

Natural language input works well — type “Grocery shopping tomorrow at 5pm” and it parses correctly. Smart lists let you create filtered views based on date, tag, priority, or list combinations.

TickTick is available on iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, Linux, web, Apple Watch, and as browser extensions. Collaboration features let you share lists and assign tasks to other users.

The free tier is generous, covering most features with a limit of 9 lists and 99 tasks per list. Premium at around $36/year unlocks unlimited everything plus calendar views and custom filters.

The company is based in Beijing, and while they don’t share exact user numbers, the app has millions of downloads across app stores and strong ratings everywhere.
