Yotpo was founded in 2011 by Tomer Tagrin and Omri Cohen in Tel Aviv. Tagrin had run an online store and realized that collecting and leveraging customer reviews was one of the highest-impact things a merchant could do — but the tools available at the time were terrible.
The platform started with reviews and ratings, then expanded into a full retention marketing suite. Today Yotpo offers five core products: Reviews & UGC, Loyalty & Referrals, SMS & Email, Subscriptions, and Visual UGC. All products share a unified customer data layer, so loyalty points can trigger SMS campaigns and review data can personalize email flows.
Yotpo raised over $400 million in total funding, including a $230 million Series F in 2021 at a $1.4 billion valuation. Investors include Bessemer Venture Partners, Hanaco Ventures, and Tiger Global Management.
The platform integrates natively with Shopify, BigCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and other e-commerce platforms. Its review collection engine uses smart prompts, in-email review forms, and photo/video requests to generate high-quality user content that drives conversion rates.
Yotpo serves tens of thousands of brands including Steve Madden, Princess Polly, and Rebecca Minkoff. The loyalty product manages points, tiers, and reward programs that go beyond basic discounts. The company employs around 700 people with offices in New York, Tel Aviv, London, and Sofia.
